Tiradentes - Data comemorativa (21 de abril)

Joaquim da Silva Xavier, o Tiradentes, lutou e morreu para libertar o Brasil do domínio de Portugal. Por isso é considerado o mártir da Independência. Ele tinha esse apelido porque trabalhava de dentista, entre outras ocupações.
Tiradentes e alguns companheiros organizaram, em Minas Gerais, um movimento para proclamar nossa Independência. Esse movimento chamou-se Inconfidência Mineira.
O movimento foi delatado ao governo português.
Tiradentes foi enforcado no dia 21 de abril de 1792. Seus companheiros foram presos e expulsos do Brasil.
