Existem diferentes bairros em uma cidade, onde diferentes atividades são desenvolvidas. Para trabalhar essas atividades, o educador poderá sugerir que todos façam um passeio pelos arredores da escola.
O passeio será dividido em etapas para facilitar o estudo e a aprendizagem ser realmente significativa.
| 1º Etapa: A primeira etapa será de observação. Os alunos com papel e lápis, irão anotar: - nomes das ruas que percorreram no passeio; - tipos de casas comerciais encontradas no trajeto; - locais de lazer - existem ou não? |

2º Etapa:
Após o passeio, retornando à sala de aula, os alunos deverão registrar no caderno as observações feitas.
- Pesquisar o porquê do nome da rua de sua escola (nome de pessoa, quem foi etc.)
3º Etapa:
- Utilizar o desenho como forma de representar os trechos observados do passeio.
- Construir uma maquete dos arredores de sua escola.
4º Etapa:
Os alunos poderão visitar a biblioteca do bairro, para obter informações sobre sua história. Caso não seja possível esse procedimento, entrevistar pessoas antigas no bairro é outro bom instrumento a ser utilizado como fonte de informação.
5º Etapa:
Pesquisar fotos antigas do bairro, fazendo uma comparação com as fotos atuais, e colocá-las em um mural.
