Emilia Ferreiro
Emilia Ferreiro nasceu na Argentina em 1936. Doutorou-se na Universidade de Genebra, sob orientação do biólogo Jean Piaget, cujo trabalho de epistemologia genética ela continuou, estudando e aprofundando-se em um assunto que Piaget não explorou: a escrita.
A partir do ano de 1974, Ferreiro desenvolveu na Universidade de Buenos Aires uma série de experimentos com crianças, a qual expôs as conclusões do estudo na obra Psicogênese da Língua Escrita, juntamente com a pedagoga Ana Teberosky.
Hoje Emilia é professora titular do Centro de Investigação e Estudos Avançados do Instituto Politécnico Nacional, da Cidade do México, onde vive.
Além de professora – que exerce viajando pelo mundo – Ferreiro está à frente do site chicosyescritores.org, em que alunos escrevem em parceria com grandes autores e publicam os próprios textos.
